Life Story for Clifford Johnston

Clifford  Johnston
F. Clifford Johnston passed away at Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Monday, November 30, 2015 in his 92nd year.

Loving father of Douglas Johnston and his wife Jodie of Blenheim, and Anne Boehm and her husband Larry of Kitchener, grandfather of Tara Johnston Lee and her husband Don Lee, Ryan Johnston and his wife Jessica, and Billy-Jay Johnston and his wife Aimee and great-grandfather of Bella Anne Johnston.

Remembered by his sister Edith Burnett of Milverton, his sister-in-law Elaine Hubbard of Harriston, and by his long time ‘best friend’ and companion Edna M. Lyon ( nee Heighes ) of Palmerston.

He was predeceased by his first wife Doreen (Hubbard) Johnston in 1994 and his second wife Elsie (McIntyre) Johnston in 1998; also by his parents Frank and Annie Johnston, and two brothers George Johnston and Eric Johnston.

Cliff was a life time employee and manager for Canada Packers. He served overseas in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. He was a life member and past president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 296, Harriston and past president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 134, Mount Forest.
Cliff was a member of Harriston Masonic Lodge No. 262 for 60 years, member of Pal Mocha Shrine Club, Mocha Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S., London, Moore Sovereign Consistory A.& A.S.R, Hamilton, member of Luxar Shrine, Saint John, NB, Provost Shrine Club and Victoria Chapter No. 1 Order of the Eastern Star, Woodstock, NB.

He was a 60 year member of Garnet Lodge No. 139 I.O.O.F., Mount Forest and past D.D.G.M. of Saugeen District No. 26 I.O.O.F. and a member of Harriston United Church.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
with a Masonic Lodge memorial service at 6:30 p.m. and a Royal Canadian Legion memorial service at 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Hardy-Lee Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 8th at 11:00 a.m.
Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
