Doris Batty of Harriston, passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Harriston, on Monday, March 28, 2016 in her 103rd year.

Doris Irene (Muir) Batty was the wife of the late Irvine J. Batty, and dear mother of Brian Batty and his wife Barbara Campbell, mother-in-law of Iris Batty, all of Edmonton, AB., and sister-in-law of Betty Muir of Byron.

Grandmother of Irvine Batty of Niagara Falls, Christine Smith of Niagara Falls, Richard and Judy Batty of Edmonton, AB, Tina and John Swayze of Thorold, Sharon and Bruce McLellan of Edmonton, AB, and Tracy and Shane Christensen of Onoway, AB.

Great-grandmother of Lisa Smith and Jeff Savioe, Laura Smith, Bill Smith and Brooke Major, and Jennifer Smith, all of Niagara Falls, Alicia Batty and Nade Porder, and Sarah Batty and Braedan Greenly, all of Edmonto, AB, Amanda Pole and Robert Diccorado, and Teresa Swayze, all of Thorold, Brandt McLellan of Edmonton, AB, Matthew Christensen of Burnaby, BC, Joel Christensen of Duffield, AB, and Melissa Christensen of Edmonton, AB.

Great-greatgrandmother of Liam Smith, Emma Smith, Brent McLellan, Melissa Christenson, Joel Christenson, and Matthew Christenson.

Predeceased by her son Carl Batty and wife Frieda , Doris was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her brothers and sisters Roy Muir, Earl Muir and wife Iris, Jack Muir and his wife Florrie, Hazel McIntosh and husband Bob, Stella Thompson and husband Lyle, Mildred Prazienke and husband Paul, Shirley Kett and husband Len, Yvonne Povelofskie and husband Lyle, Marjory Muir, and Bonnie Waddell and husband Lyle.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kathy Morden officiating.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
