Obituary for Mary Hale

Mary  Hale
Mary Hale ~ It is with peaceful hearts filled with love and wonderful memories that we announce the death of our beloved Mother on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the age of 89.

Mary Bridget (Madigan) Hale was the loving wife of the late Gerald Hale (1989), and dearest mother to David and Patricia Hale of Mississauga, Margaret Ann and Wayne Benedict of Owen Sound, Catherine Hale of Waterloo, Michael and Susan Hale of Georgetown, Ellen and Steve Rideout of Mississauga, Mary Jane and Grant McDonald of Roseville, Laura and Paul Feick of Guelph, and Edward and Paula Hale of Georgetown.

She will be remembered and missed by her grandchildren Shelley and Dave Avella, Theresa and Anthony Battiston, Andrew and Jessica Hale, Christina Benedict and Glenn Wells, Stephen and Danielle Benedict, Mary Ann and Kevin Matheson, Janelle and Jordan Hale, Jeffrey and Katie Hale, Bryan Hale, Julie and Martin Schlosser, Sarah Rideout, Sean and Diane McDonald, Stephanie Cherri and Brendan McDonald, Devin McDonald, Jennifer McDonald, Johanna and Joe Samson, Alyxandra and Dan Brown, Lauren and Chris Mochrie, Cassandra Hale and Steve Renton, Leslie Hale, and Nicholas Hale; and by her great-grandchildren Marcus, Madelyne, Isaak, Kayla, Sydney, Sophie, Jackson, Joshua, Zachary, Adrian, Quintin, Parker, Emma, Kaeley, Ryann, Evan, Ben, Samantha, Liam, Connor, Henry, George, and Jack.

Dear sister of Paul Madigan and Patricia of Guelph, and sister–in-law of Mervyn Cowan of Harriston, Rita Tangney of Mount Forest, Edward Hale of Harriston, Tom and Cecile Hale of Baden, and Jean Hale of Guelph.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Marie (Wilkie) Madigan, her brothers Frank, John, Michael, Tom, Leo, and James Madigan, by her sisters Jean Hale and husband Cyril, Margaret McLean and husband Don, and Kathlyne Cowan, and by her brothers-in-law and sisters in law Leonard and Anna Hale, Helen and Charlie Dadswell, Eileen Hale, Joe Tangney, Mary and Rene Lord, and Louie Hale.

Formerly of Minto Township and Mount Forest, Mary has resided at Royal Terrace, Palmerston since 2014.

Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, Mount Forest and a member of the Catholic Women’s League for 60+ years, and had worked at Louise Marshall Hospital before she retired. Playing cards, reading, cooking and baking were among her favourite things to do.

Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 6:15 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St.Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, Mount Forest on Friday, April 28th at 11:30 a.m.

Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Forest

Memorial donations to Alzheimer Society or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
