Condolence: It was with deep sadness I received the news of Howard's passing, only two days after my mother died suddenly in an accident. As the new editor of The Rural Route magazine I was looking forward to meeting him in person. I greatly enjoyed his stories (and yours) and am looking forward to working with you. My family could not have asked for a more kind, hard-working and skilled group of folks to work with than you guys. Howard operated the drag-line and dug our pond.
