...was so sad to hear that a special colleague of mine had passed away. Derrick was truly a mentor and friend to everyone he met and his wisdom about kids, teaching and life in general was always interesting and appreciated. In later years, when our paths crossed, he always had a big hug to give with questions about myself and my family. The world has truly lost an amazing man.
